Radkey at Mercury Lounge on February 20, 2014

Radkey put on a great show last Thursday at Mercury Lounge. It was a killer and energetic punk filled night that ended with a Misfits cover. Check out some music below and a few shots that we got.

Ski Lodge - "Just To Be Like You" Video

I saw Ski Lodge a couple of months ago open for Ex-Cops at Mercury Lounge and they clearly stole the show. I've been digging for material that sounded like their Smiths inspired live show but only found some older stuff on Rdio. Excited to share this track that sounds like that live show.

Chvrches - "Recover"

Loving these guys. So far everything I have heard from Chvrcheshas been spot on. Check out the new track, "Recover". I know they are at Mercury Lounge on 3/18 and they are all sold out. Wishing I moved quicker on this one.

Grimes - "Oblivion" Video

Still pissed that I let those Grimes ticket's go at Mercury Lounge.  If you have them, enjoy.  I am just gonna sit at home and watch this video.

Grimes - Visions streaming Now On NPR First Listen

If you haven't hear the new Grimes LP now you can over at NPR. I've been digging it.  Also, check her out live if you can.  I really was hoping to get in at the Mercury Lounge but this thing is way hyped these days.  It's sold out and they aren't granting passes.

Seabear at Mercury Lounge in NYC 3/25/10

Caught the Seabear show at the Mercury Lounge tonight. They can sure play. Funny too. See for yourself. Video below isn't the best but the audio is solid. Singer Sindri Már Sigfússon's intro recalls his last time in NYC when there was apparently a brawl.

Eels and Spoon at Spinner Listen free

The new Spoon must be awesome since this dude thinks so. Plus I thinks so, so....

The new new Eels I haven't heard yet. Which sucks.

There is also new Editors.

Dawn Landes who will be playing at the Merc Lounge this Friday has an album.

El May.

All of these things that are darker (bold) than the other words are streaming at Spinner.

Class Actress, Acrylics, Violens on Wednesday, December 9th at the Mercury Lounge

Some super sweet bands at the the MerLou on a Wednesday in December. Been listening to the Acrylics EP (you can download it for free there too) a lot lately and it's sorta dope. I think you'll like it to if you know what's good. Also Class Actress is the other one that will be playing and Pitchfork is hyping them so they gotta be good, right? Violens EP I listened to a lot some time a go but when I listened to it today I didn't get excited.

Might go to this show.

Here's an Acrylics tune called "All of the Fire"

Here's a Class Actress song called "Careful What You Say"

Where else can you get these things but Musicology NYC?

Noah and the Whale Movie

How 'bout Noah and the Whale all tight with John Norris? Here's hoping the movie is as good as their new album. Additionally they will be playing music in NYC: residency at the Mercury Lounge November 2, 3 & 4th.

The First Days of Spring
An inspired film accompaniment to Noah and the Whale's second album

Join Noah and the Whale's Charlie Fink in NYC for an intimate screening of his directorial film debut The First Days of Spring with a special Q&A to follow.
