Here's a band for years that I have been trying to love but I still only use them for background music. I've seen them live and that won me over a little but it wasn't sustainable. I gave up soon after. Giving the new LP another spin this morning and wondering, what am I missing? Why do people fall so hard for Grizzly Bear? Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear's new project CANT

Grizzly Bear bassist, vocalist and producer Chris Taylor is set to release his first solo album as CANT on September 13 via Terrible Records.

Class Actress at Highline Ballroom Thursday

Elizabeth Harper has a singer-songwriter kinda name. And she used to be and sorta still is. But she does so in a non-singer-songwriter way. In a more new wave kinda way. Or somethin'. She and her band perform under the moniker Class Actress and they make good music.
