Dude from Interpol to Release Solo Album Julian Plenti

Paul Blanks of Interpol is Julian Plenti. The snippets at the website sound interesting and if nothing else, a lot different from Interpol's sound.

Kicking and Streaming: Xiu Xiu, Caroline Lufkin, etc.

There are some pretty good records streaming this week. Check out the new Xiu Xiu album Women as Lovers, at their myspace (skip the cover of "Under Pressure" if you can). On Spinner you'll find Radiohead's, In Rainbows, Interpol's, Live EP, Sia's, Some People Have Real Problems, along with a fine remix album titled Murmurs Mixes by Caroline Lufkin. This record is a remix of the LA based electronica artist's 2006 release.
