Our Apologies and 2008 Siren

For the past week or two Musicology NYC has been on hiatus due to the moving of our headquarters. We tried to get a few posts up, but it was damn near impossible. However, music has not eluded us.

We have been listening to a lot of great stuff lately. Frightened Rabbit's The Midnight Organ Fight, the new Hold Steady and Mogwai's The Hawk is Howling have been on heavy rotation.

We have also caught a brief but wonderful Santogold show at Summerstage, but most importantly we drank our faces off at Siren.

Islands stole the show as they blew away the mediocre Broken Social Scene. We have some iphone photos to prove we were there.

Anyway, we promise that we are back now and there will be no more long breaks.

Once again, the part is greater the sum of its whole on Albert Hammond's new album Como Te Llamma (release date July 8, 2008). It stands better than his band The Strokes in our ears. Just as his first album Yours To Keep did. Judge for yourself at Albert's Myspace, where the entire record is streaming.
