So glad
Sigur Ros is back to their old sound. It's seldom that I discourage change in artists but they just sound better when they are melancholic and uplifting all at once. My sister saw them live last night in Philly and was wowed. I saw them back on the
() tour and felt the same. If you haven't seen them...you need to. For now a new video for "Varúð".

Interestingly, this is the only song on their new album that is "back to their old sound." For the most part, the album they're currently touring to support, which is titled Valtari, is nothing like the "classic" Sigur Ros sound of a huge build to apotheosis.
Check out my review of the album - I go so far as to think that some of their new material sounds more like Morton Feldman than Sigur Ros to me! http://consequenceofsound.net/2012/05/album-review-sigur-ros-valtari/
I would agree to an extent. I didn't like Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust at all and this album feels like it falls more in line with the beauty of prior records. It may not build to the crescendo like albums prior but it sure falls in line with their overall sound prior to Með suð.
