The new Magnetic Fields album, Distortion is available January 18, 2008 on Nonesuch. The album will most likely find it's way onto many top 10 lists for '08. It is now streaming at their myspace. The record has been well received and we here at Musicology are receiving it in that manner as well. Honestly, I was a tad sceptical about the heavy Jesus and Mary Chain, Psychocandy vibe that the album was rumored to have, but after a few listens, I conclude this is one of Stephin Merritt's best records.
